Wedding Shower Treats

About Me

Wedding Shower Treats

Last year, my sister married the man of her dreams. To celebrate her impending nuptials, I hosted a wedding shower for her. Because all of our family gatherings include delicious foods, I prepared a few dishes for this special event. I served sausage balls, chicken salad, corn flake candy, wedding cookies, red velvet cake, and citrus punch at the wedding shower. Red velvet cake is my sister’s favorite dessert, so I was the one who baked a tall, moist, and scrumptious one for her. On this blog, I hope you will discover the best treats to serve at events like wedding showers. Enjoy!

3 Delicious Desserts To Make With Raspberry Flavored Syrup

If you're a fan of raspberries, and you have a sweet tooth, then you should get some raspberry flavored syrup. You can stock this in your cupboard and then have it on hand when you need it. It's much more convenient than having to run out and buy fresh raspberries. With fresh raspberries, if you can find them and they are in season, you have to make a sauce for many desserts. This requires a mesh strainer, a saucepan, sugar, and time. With raspberry syrup, all you have to do is take it out of the cupboard.

Here are three great desserts that feature raspberry syrup.

Raspberry Flavored Dark Chocolate Truffles

You can find a recipe for truffles online and then flavor it by adding a touch of the syrup. A truffle is made with a few simple ingredients. First, you will need heavy cream, then you will need chocolate. Some recipes will include butter. You will use a double boiler. First bring the cream to a boil. This evaporates some of the excess moisture. Then add your dark chocolate. If you purchased a large block of chocolate, make sure to shave it so that it melts quickly. You don't want to dump a big piece of chocolate into the cream. It won't melt quick enough. You could also buy small dark chocolate chips.

Add the syrup once the chocolate and cream have blended completely. Then set the mixture in your fridge until it sets. You can then form the truffles by hand. Wear latex gloves that are sold without powder.

Vanilla Cupcakes With Raspberry Flavored Frosting

This one is can be tailored to lots of different recipes. First, make your basic vanilla cupcake recipe. If you don't have one, you can get a box of cupcake mix and then bake them. While they are cooling, choose the type of frosting you want to make. You can make a sophisticated Swiss meringue buttercream, a 7-minute frosting, or a basic butter and powdered sugar buttercream. In each case, you will make the frosting and at the final stage after all of the ingredients have been blended together, whisk in a bit of the syrup.

Dark Chocolate Cake With Raspberry Flavored Ganache

This is a great recipe for chocolate lovers. Make your favorite chocolate cake recipe, or use a box if you don't have a from-scratch recipe. Let the cake cool and then begin to make the ganache. The process is similar to making chocolate truffles except that you will be using a higher proportion of cream to chocolate for ganache. Again, you want to make sure that the cream and chocolate are blended before adding the raspberry syrup.

You can also brush some syrup onto the cake before you glaze it to give it a real flavor boost.
